Jackson Family -- Demerol Shot reason for death

A close member of Michael Jackson's family has told us Jackson received a daily injection of a synthetic narcotic similar to morphine -- Demerol -- and yesterday he received a shot at 11:30 AM.

Family members are saying the dosage was "too much" and that's what caused his death.

Chris Brown just walked into the court in downtown Los Angeles, through a sea of media and law enforcement.

Officially, his preliminary hearing is set to begin at 1:30 PT and Rihanna is supposed to testify. But Brown's lawyer was in chambers this AM with the prosecutor and the judge. We're hearing they may announce a deal when the case is called.

IRS Embarrass K-Fed

K-Fed's gonna have to spend some of his babysitting money bailing out the US government -- and it's something he should have done a long time ago.

The IRS has slapped a lien on Federleezy to the tune of $14,371 in back taxes, according to The Detroit News. It's not like he's not making money. Federline is pulling in $30,000 this month alone for babysitting his two kids.

Tom Hanks is now officially the proud owner of a $75,000 Beatles poster, because his wife has dropped her lawsuit claiming the art was bogus.

Rita Wilson sued Melissa Pearl, claiming the poster from 1962 -- which she bought for Hanks -- never came with the proper authentication.

But Pearl anted up a doc from Sotheby's and Rita now seems satisfied. So the case is history. Long live the Beatles.

Burglar Jacks the Keys to Paulina Casa

pop superstar Paulina Rubio's Miami home was broken into this weekend -- and the alleged burglar only took two very important things ... her house keys and a remote control to her front gate.

According to the official police report, cops "noticed doors to the home wide open ... and footprints within the home" at around 9:30 Saturday night. The report says Rubio was out of town at the time.

The docs say cops couldn't tell if anything was actually stolen from the residence, but were later told the keys and remote control were missing.

Due to the creepiness of the break-in, a watch order has been placed over the property -- and cops are waiting to get their hands on a copy of Rubio's surveillance tapes.

Britney gets More Kiddie Time than K-Fed

We've learned that Britney Spears and Mr.Fed have reached a new agreement on custody -- and now Brit has the kids more than 50% of the time -- at least during her concert tour.

Lawyers for Brit and Kevin Federline have filed docs with the family law Commissioner Scott Gordon, stating they have reached a new temporary custody arrangement. During June, July and August, Britney will have physical custody of Jayden James and Sean Preston more than 50% of the time. The lawyers submitted a calendar outlining who gets the kids on which day.

Contrary to some reports, we know that before the change Britney had the kids 50% of the time.

The 50/50 split will go back into effect once Britney's tour is over.

Bret Michaels just posted these gruesome pics of his busted ass face after a prop at the award show came down and cracked him in the face at the end of a live performance Sunday night.

"I feel had this incident happened to Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton or Elton John the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern."

In the statement, Bret claims he was dazed and bloodied during the incident, but "the full extent of his injuries remains to be seen until all x-rays are back."

Michaels reps claim someone working on the Tony's should have prevented the injury form ever happening, saying "the prop should have been immediately halted until Michaels was clear."

Mike Tyson's daughter dies in treadmill tragedy

PHOENIX, Arizona (AFP) — Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson's four-year-old daughter died on Tuesday, a day after accidentally catching her neck in a cord on a treadmill at her home, police said.

"I was just advised by investigators that Exodus Tyson was pronounced deceased at 11:45 am today at the hospital," Phoenix police spokesman Andy Hill said. "Our sympathies go out to the family."

Exodus Tyson had been hospitalized on life support since Monday, when she was found with her neck wrapped in a cable of the exercise machine by her seven-year-old brother.

The boy summoned his 34-year-old mother from another room, and the woman freed the girl, called an ambulance and tried to revive her.

Tyson, who doesn't live in the modest Phoenix house where the accident occurred, arrived Monday afternoon from Las Vegas and was filmed by television news cameras entering the hospital where Exodus was being treated.

"We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love and prayers from all over the world," the family said in a statement.

"There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus. We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal."

Hill said Monday that the police investigation of the scene indicated a "tragic accident."

UPDATE: Were told Carrie just received her letter of termination. She is officially out.

We've learned "bucolically correct" Carrie Prejean will lose her Miss California USA crown today because she doesn't play well with others.

Sources connected with the pageant tell us even Donald Trump has now had it with Carrie, because she's violating her contract by not getting clearance to do her extracurricular stuff.

We're also told Carrie has been a no-show for appearances she was supposed to make for the pageant organization.

The firing, we're told, is strictly based on Carrie breaching her contract. It's not based on her political and moral views.

Carrie Prejean: Asked to do Playboy

Miss California USA Carrie Prejean -- and she says the pageant was trying to bring her out to Playboy.

Prejean claims pageant honcho Keith Lewis actually asked her last month if she would take two gigs -- appearing on "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!" and Playboy. Prejean says Lewis told her Playboy offered $140,000 for her to pose semi-nude. She rejected both offers.

A few minutes ago we talked to Lewis who said he was not pushing her to take either gig -- but merely passing the offers along. Lewis said Prejean had insisted they not turn anything down without running it by her.

Prejean -- who told us she was "shocked" at the news she was fired and learned about it only after we broke the story -- tells us she has been more than cooperative with pageant officials.

Prejean says, "What's behind this I think is a political debate. They don't agree with the stance that I took [on Prop 8]. Shanna [Moakler] is trying to bash me. They don't like me. From day one they wanted me out and they got what they wanted."

Prejean also told us she couldn't believe Donald Trump would say she treated people in the pageant "like s**t." For the record, Trump did tell Harvey Levin that on the phone earlier today. Prejean said if Trump really feels that way she's sorry, adding: "I've shown respect for every party involved, even when they haven't shown it back."

Prejean went on: "I was very respectful of people even when they slandered me and humiliated me. I have not once stooped down to their level."

Etta James Sued

Etta James is being sued by a man who claims she hired him to be in her band -- then went back on her word and caused him to lose a bunch of money.

Leo Nocentelli claims he and Etta reached an oral agreement in February of '2008 for him to play guitar on her tour, which was set to last from March '08 - March '09.

After playing the first few shows with Etta, she became ill and was forced to cancel a number of her concert dates -- problem is, Leo says she forgot to tell him she was 86'ing the shows.

According to the lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, when she became healthy enough to perform again in August of 2008, Leo claims she brought back all the band members except him -- something she once again forgot to tell him.

Leo's suing for at least $50,000 for breach of contract.

Danny Gans' Death Accidential

Legendary Las Vegas performer Danny Gans' cause of death has been ruled an accidental overdose of pain medication.

Clark County Coroner Michael Murphy said Danny officially died from hydromorphone toxicity due to chronic pain syndrome -- and that other contributing factors include hypertension cardiovascular disease and a disease that caused him to produce an abnormal amount of red blood cells.

Murphy says Gans had a toxic reaction to the drug because of an existing heart condition. He added, "This was not drug abuse."

Danny died on May 1 at his home after a family member called 911 to say he was having trouble breathing. By the time paramedics arrived, it was too late.

Cops Investigate Jessica Alba Shark Attack

Jessica Alba is under criminal investigation for daring to take a stand on behalf of a white shark in Oklahoma!



Oklahoma City police tell us the city's Director of Parks and Recreation -- Wendell Whisenhunt -- filed a police report after pictures surfaced of Alba allegedly defacing electrical boxes, a bridge and a United Way billboard. Alba was on a mission, gluing posters that are part of a campaign to save the great whites.

Alba, it seems, is scrambling. Her rep has already called the United Way, offering to replace the billboard.
